for humanitarian reasons. During this time Abraham Lincoln was the president of the United States of America. Lincoln believed in what he thought was right by writing the Proclamation. At first the Emancipation Proclamation was not accepted and many despised it, but later the Emancipation Proclamation became an important document that allowed slaves to be free in certain places.
During Lincoln's presidency, Lincoln soon realized the treatment of slaves in certain areas of the United States of America. Knowing every person should have equal treatment, Lincoln created a document. This document would later help certain slaves gain freedom in certain states. This document was known as the Emancipation Proclamation. In the document Emancipation Proclamation, Lincoln stated that all enslaved people within the states in rebellion was to be free. Creating a better nation is the goal of all presidents. This idea was also one of Lincoln's promised goals.
Lincoln, like most previous presidents, wanted to create a better nation for the citizens and the world. With states rebelling against Lincoln, Lincoln could not accomplish his goals. Knowing the problems of the States allowed Lincoln to create an interesting idea. Allowing slaves to gain freedom from the rebelling states gained a lot of attention. At first Lincoln's idea was disapproved, but Lincoln never gave up and later the Emancipation Proclamation was approved. In the text, Lincoln stated by the power given to him, he allows the enslaved people to be free. Lincoln's creative ways allowed him to gain many followers, but also gain haters.
Creating the Emancipation Proclamation was a tough process. Getting many people to approve of Lincoln's decision was difficult. Creating something something and ending it was impossible during the era of slavery. Many people who detested Lincoln's idea of freeing enslaved people in certain states created anger, distrust, and broken loyalty. As the haters grow with more hatred, Lincoln was later assassinated by one of his haters. Lincoln, knowing the hate people had toward him, stood his ground and never showed fear toward them. Lincoln stayed with his ideas and beliefs. This allowed him to create the Emancipation Proclamation and take a step toward ending slavery.
